How the marketplace works

1A safe and anonymous first contact

Improving security was a key aim of the rebuild. The first contact therefore runs through the messages in your account. The other party sees neither your e-mail address nor your phone number, only your username, your profile and your verification level. You decide when to share your contact details. Listings from the previous marketplace are an exception, see section 7.

A suspicious listing can be reported with one click, and we look at every report. What remains is your own care when paying and handing over. Our safety guidelines explain how to trade safely.

2Create an account and sign in

You need an account to publish listings and send enquiries. Registration takes a few minutes. You enter a username, your e-mail address, a password (at least 10 characters) and your mobile number. You confirm the e-mail address via a link and the mobile number via an SMS code. The mobile number is used only to confirm your account and is stored encrypted.

Afterwards you sign in with your e-mail address and password. Under "My account" you find listings, messages, watchlist and profile in one place. Create an account

3Verify your identity

Every account carries the level Account confirmed. If you wish, you can have your identity verified once with an ID document and then carry the label Identity verified in your profile. For anyone who sells regularly, this builds trust: buyers see at a glance that a verified person stands behind the offer. There is a practical benefit too: your listings go online faster.

4Publish a listing

Click "Publish a listing". First you describe the item: title, description, category, condition, location and asking price. You state whether pickup, shipping or delivery is possible. Optionally you add the original price, a listening session on site or details about packaging and accessories. Each listing offers one item: several devices belong in one listing only if you sell them exclusively together, for example a preamp and power amp as a combination. If you also sell them separately, create a listing for each.

Then you upload up to 8 photos and arrange them by dragging. The first photo is the cover image. The preview shows the listing as buyers will see it. From CHF 100 asking price you pay the fee here by card or TWINT. Your listing is checked by us and then goes online. You can save a draft at any time. Publish a listing

5Fees

The fee depends on the asking price and is charged once, at publication. Up to CHF 100, listing is free.

After publication you can lower the asking price at any time, but not raise it. The fee stays as calculated at publication.

6Manage and renew listings

Everything else happens under "My account → Listings". There you edit text and photos, lower the price, pause a listing or mark it as sold.

A listing stays online for 90 days. Shortly before it expires we remind you by e-mail, and you renew it with one click for another 90 days. This costs the regular fee. If you lower the price by at least 25 percent when renewing, the renewal is free.

7Listings from the previous marketplace

When we switched to the new marketplace, we carried over the existing listings. They are marked "Listing from the previous marketplace".

As a buyer: as long as the seller has not taken over the listing, your enquiry runs through the old e-mail system. Your e-mail address is passed on to the seller, and the reply arrives directly in your inbox.

As a seller: you receive a personal link from us by e-mail and use it to take over your listings into an account free of charge. The e-mail states a date. If you do not take over your listings by then, they will be permanently deleted. No e-mail received? Request a new link
